Parkinson's

What is Parkinson's?

Parkinson’s is a neurological disorder that affects movement control, and its symptoms may include:

When do you need physical therapy for Parkinson's disease?

Noticeable slowness in walking or shortness of step

Imbalance or fear of falling

Difficulty turning around or entering tight spaces

Stiffness prevents you from moving comfortably.

Difficulty getting up from a chair or moving out of bed

Rapid fatigue and lack of fitness due to lack of movement

Freezing of movement while walking or at the beginning of a step

Important note: If you experience frequent falls, severe dizziness, or a sudden deterioration in movement, it is advisable to contact a doctor.

Goals of physiotherapy:

Why is home treatment suitable for Parkinson's?

Because everyday challenges happen within the home:

Getting up from a chair, going to the bathroom, turning around between rooms, stepping over carpets and thresholds: inside the house, we can train the patient in these same situations, and suggest simple modifications to the environment that reduce falls and facilitate movement.
