Neuritis
What is neuritis?
Neuritis is irritation or inflammation of a nerve that may occur due to:
- Pressure on the nerve or repeated friction
- Muscle strain and incorrect postures
- injury or sudden movement
- Some medical conditions (according to the doctor’s assessment)
It may manifest as neuralgia, numbness, tingling, or mild weakness in the muscles associated with the nerve.
When do you need natural treatment for nerve inflammation?
Symptoms persisting for more than two weeks
Neuralgia that recurs daily or wakes you up from sleep
Numbness that increases over time or spreads to a larger area
Weakness in movement or difficulty using the hand/foot
Pain associated with sitting, desk work, or using the phone
Symptoms return after temporary improvement
Important note: If the symptoms are severe or developing rapidly, a medical evaluation is recommended to determine the cause.
Goals of physiotherapy:
- Safe nerve gliding exercises according to nerve type
- Flexibility and strengthening exercises to relieve stress and improve muscle support
- Correcting sitting and sleeping postures and reducing repetitive strain
- Teaching you "safety boundaries" signals so as not to irritate the nerves
- A simple and clear home exercise program to maintain between sessions
Why is home treatment beneficial?
Because nerve inflammation is often affected by a daily routine inside the home:
Sitting on a low sofa, sleeping position, using the phone, or sitting for long periods in the car. At home, we can accurately identify these causes and modify them practically, and choose exercises that suit your environment to relieve symptoms more quickly.
